I have a great love of fabrics and threads, finding the textural and manipulative qualities they offer exciting. I feel the strength of my work is in the technical skills acquired from a lifetime of dedication to the field of textiles having been a lecturer for over 25 years. The challenge of of developing and inspiring students at University level has kept me abreast of new technology and current trends.
My work at present combines painting, the layering of fabrics, construction and surface stitch. Through painting and stitch my work explores vibrant colours, patterns and shapes. I always chose the theme as a challenge.
