I am inspired by fragments of everyday textiles and the significant parts of people’s lives which become entwined in the use of them. Wedding dresses, darning wool, pinnies, coal miners collars all have stories to tell.
I also like the ambiguity of words and the secrets that they keep.

Recently I have been working on ideas about ‘holes’. The structural holes that appear in garments as they are worn out and are stitched back together as a metaphor for the holes that appear throughout life and it’s relationships, some of which can be repaired and some of which cannot!
