Lydie Gardner

I enjoy portraying people in humorous ways. Having started conventionally with little stumpwork figures I quickly moved on to working on a larger scale which allowed me more scope for experimentation, especially with construction techniques.
A period working with Wendy Froud, a doll and puppet maker for the Henson organisation, on some TV commercials and a Spitting Image pilot, helped me hone my skills.

My work is still mainly figurative but occasionally I do produce abstract
pieces.
