This was a major summer exhibition including all aspects of textile creation. The theme explored all facets of flying/flight from the more obvious birds, creatures, nature, planes, machines to the metaphysical and humorous. Launched as a fabulous installation at Slimbridge in the summer of 2007 and then reworked as Second Flight for a new and exciting venue in Cornwall during June 2009.
Wheal Martyn is a very different venue from Slimbridge and because of this, many of the pieces of work were new or worked especially for the situation.
